7/8/2023 0 Comments Instagram square video![]() If you are able to post square videos please let me know: If anyone has any suggestions on how to get around all of this I would be very grateful. ![]() That doesn’t seem to be working for me now. What I was doing a while ago to get around it was to export my square video into a vertical format and create a vertical cover image which I then cropped in the Instagram desktop site to get it to display as a square and it wouldn’t show up in my reels when done this way. I have them under 60 seconds but more than three seconds, the file is less than 100 MB, and it is in 30 frames per second. The files I am trying to post are, as far as I can tell, within Instagram‘s guidelines for square videos. When I look at other Instagram accounts I see that they also have square videos and they are not in their reels section so I have no idea how they are accomplishing this. ![]() This wasn’t a problem a week ago or so for me. Whenever I try to post from the desktop site I always get an error that says it fails to post, but does not give a reason why. When I do post from Mobile, it automatically assigns as a reel and there’s no way for me to remove it from the reels category. I have been struggling recently with posting 1080 x 1080 or 1:1 videos on Instagram through both the Mobile app and the desktop site. Please ask a mod to look into it providing a link ( use the link, it helps to identify the post) If you think your post is not showing, it may be due to the spam filter. Make it creative and introduce yourself, tell us what type of pictures you take etc.īecause of the weekly Introduction thread, Automoderator will automatically remove any 'Follow me, follow train, etc' type threads to keep the subreddit free of lots of spam posts. You can post in every thread as many weeks in a row as you want. There is now a weekly Introduction thread that will be stickied where you can introduce yourself and your profile and what you can do. Post there or post a link to a picture you have taken. We have the weekly Introduction thread and there are many other opportunities to introduce yourself. These are against the Instagram ToS and your post will get removed and you will get banned.ĭO NOT ask Reddit users to hack/attack/insult or any other negative activity you will get your post removed and you will get banned.ĭO NOT Post directly to your account in a thread or create a thread for just that. Please DO NOT post links to sites where you can buy followers or likes. ![]() Posting about things that violate the TOS will get your post removed and possibly get you banned. Please follow the Instagram TOS while posting here. Instagram 7.5 is available today from the App Store and Google Play. This is your destination for Instagram related discussions, Instagram photos, articles and much more. By allowing different aspect ratios to be shared natively, are they moving away from what made them great? Or just embracing how users have been uploading content to the social media app for years? This is a monumental shift for Instagram, who popularized the square photo. Users can also adjust filter intensity on their videos. In the past, Instagram has had separate filters for photography and video shares. Your posts will appear as a center-cropped square when viewing your profile.Īnother update is all filters are now available for both photos and videos. But Instagram is not getting rid of your profile grids. Once you share the photo or video, the full-sized version appears in followers' feeds. The new feature, which rolls out today on iOS and Android, allows users to tap the format icon to adjust the orientation to portrait or landscape instead of square. No more friends getting cut out of group shots, cramped video, and not being able to "capture the Golden Gate Bridge from end to end." Instagram is looking to make it easier to get those non-square photos and videos online by removing the 1:1 aspect ratio requirement. The reason for the change? Instagram did some number crunching and noticed a trend. Nearly one in five photos or videos posted are not in the square format. "We want to make it simple and fun for you to share moments just the way you want to," the Facebook-owned company said of the new feature release. The iconic square format has always been a part of Instagram's culture and today marks a shift in how users can tell their visual stories.
